Monsoons

monsoon is a seasonal change in the direction of the prevailing, or strongest  winds of a region. Monsoons cause wet and dry seasons throughout much of the tropics. Monsoons are most often associated with the Indian Ocean.

We have two types of monsoons. Winter monsoons and Summer monsoons.

The Summer monsoons brings a humid climate which gives a very sticky feeling on our skin. Our skins are also very much on toll as well as our health. We need to zip up tight our wagging tongues for the tasty oily deep fried street foods. Summer monsoons have a lot of heavy rains. In Maharashtra they start in the month of June otherwise there timings falls between April to September. Because of our agriculture we depend on monsoon a lot. And sometimes they play a havoc because of which farmers are ruined and they die of sufferance.

Our dairy farms are so good and rich that we are also known for one of the largest milk producers in the world but for that too we have to and need to depend on the monsoon rains to keep cows healthy and well-fed. The cows who are fed on green pastures their milk is more healthy with much more good butter , cheese and buttermilk. Everything is related to Rains.

The Winter monsoon starts from October and sometimes they go on till April too.

As the Winter monsoon comes from Himalayan belts , the Himalayas prevent wind and moisture reaching the Western coast . In many areas therefore winter monsoons are dry, but not everywhere. They are also sometimes associated to droughts as compared to the Summer ones which brings floods. It is due to this prevention of wind by the Himalayas that our Southern India and Maharashtra are hot all the year.
