There are several varieties of mint – spearmint (the familiar toothpaste flavour) andcommon garden mint (pudina) which is used in cooking and for tea, and peppermint, which is used for medicinal purposes. The herb is used in sauces, chutneys, chewing gums, mouth fresheners, perfumes and room fresheners.
