Bananas are good in Potassium and therefore good for our heart because this potassium which is a mineral electrolyte keeps electricity flowing throughout our body. Potassium is necessary for the good nerve and muscle function. It can help prevent muscle cramps after exercising also.  They are low in Sodium and high in Potassium so are helpful in protecting our cardio vascular system against High Blood Pressure.

Bananas act as a prebiotic , stimulating the growth of free bacteria in the bowel. They also produce digestive enzymes to assist in absorbing nutrients. Due to high levels of Vitamin B6  they reduce swelling, strengthen our nervous system and also helps in the production of white blood cells. Since B vitamins are more commonly found in animal products, it may come as a surprise that bananas are an excellent source of vitamin B-6, also called pyridoxine. One banana supplies 35 percent of your daily B-6 requirement. Your body uses vitamin B-6 to grow new cells. Isn' t that amazing .

Carrots may get all the glory for helping your eyes, but bananas do their share as well. The fruits contain a small but significant amount of vitamin A, which is essential for protecting your eyes, maintaining normal vision and improving vision at night and in the same way they may not be overflowing with calcium, but they are still helpful in keeping bones strong. Bananas contain an abundance of fructooligosaccharides. These are nondigestive carbohydrates that encourage digestive-friendly priobotics and enhance the body's ability to absorb calcium.

Peel and freeze bananas for a great addition to any smoothie.

I have picked from a medical website this nutritional value which I think it is great.

Manganese is necessary for bone health and metabolism and bananas are a good source of it. Bananas are very good for skin, hair, eyes and feet. Banana's peel is a great polish for your shoes and also for the silverware. Its Vitamin A helps restoring the moisture in our skin. One can do a face pack of banana by mashing it up with a help of fork or whatever you have, and adding some honey to it. Some people are allergic to honey so they can mix some fresh cream or milk . Applying banana paste under your eyes for 20 minutes and washing it off with cold water would help you get rid of puffy eyes that we all hate. Rubbing bananas over your heels and leaving it there for 10-15 minutes would help curing them and bringing back that soft and smooth touch of your young skin back. If you want a natural conditioner for your hair and want to prevent hair loss, just mix some pulp of ripe bananas and yogurt. Apply this paste onto your scalp, let it sit on your hair for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with cool water. This would help prevent hair loss. Rubbing the banana peel on your shoes and silverware and rubbing it off with a paper cloth would give you shining shoes and silver a good shine.

Bananas are a sugary fruit, so eating too many and not maintaining proper dental hygiene practices can lead to tooth decay.
