HIBISCUS FLOWER

Hibiscus is a bushy annual plant. It is called Gurhal in hindi in India. It is a bushy annual plant. Parts of the flower are used to make a popular drink in Egypt called Karkade. Various parts of the plant are also used to make jams, spices, soups, and sauces. The flowers are used to make medicine.It is known by various names and it has many medicinal properties. It is good for weight-loss and for hair loss too. Its tea is also very good.

Hibiscus flowers come in many colors. They can be red, yellow, white, or peach-colored, and can be as big as six inches wide. You can also find hibiscus plants in many garden stores. The red flowers are most commonly cultivated for medical purposes, and are available as dietary supplements. 

It is a genus of flowering plant in the mallow family, malvaceae . It is quite large, containing several hundred species that are native to warm-temperate, sub-tropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are often noted for their showy flowers and are commonly known simply as hibiscus, or less widely known as rose mallow. The genus includes both annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small trees. 

The hibiscus is the national flower of Haiti and is used in their national tourism slogan of Haïti. 

The tea made of hibiscus flowers is known by many names in many countries around the world and is served both hot and cold. The beverage is well known for its color, tanginess and flavor. Dried hibiscus is edible, and it is often a delicacy in Mexico. It can also be candied and used as a garnish. 

Hibiscus is used for treating loss of appetite,cold, heart and nerve diseases, upper respiratory tract pain and swelling (inflammation), fluid retention, stomach irritation, and disorders of circulation; for dissolving phlegm; as a gentle laxative; and as a diuretic to increase urine output. Today, hibiscus is popular for its potential to reduce high blood pressure. The studies show promise for both the tea and hibiscus plant extract to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Although more research is still needed, this could be good news for the future of heart disease treatment and shows potential for cancer treatment.
